The First Chongqing Urban Art Festival and the Second Yangtze River Art Week is scheduled to kick off in the Jiulong Peninsula of Fine Arts on January 6, 2023, to promote Chongqing's unique natural scenery and cultural features, as well as enhance Chongqing's competitiveness and influence.
A variety of art exhibitions, cultural and creative fairs, and Chinese folk art activities will be held at this event. From January 6 to March, the public is welcome to participate in these exciting activities.

What surprises will this session bring after the success of the first Yangtze River Art Week?
According to the organizer, in addition to the opening ceremony, the Yangtze River Art Week 2023 also includes high-level cultural activities such as the first Chongqing International Light Art Festival, an exhibition of fine artworks from 13 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in the Yangtze River Basin, Chongqing Children's Fine Arts Exhibition, and Jiangfeng Drama Fair. Through these activities, an art park that is "unique in the world and one-of-a-kind in China" will be built according to international standards and with high quality.
Light art that reveals the local charm
As the highlight of the art week, the Chongqing International Light Art Festival, with the theme of "Flowing Light · Art Makes Life Better," will showcase the local culture in light art.
As part of the event preparation, the organizer solicited light artworks from well-known artists, designers, institutions of design, and universities at home and abroad, particularly those from countries along the Belt and Road. In the end, 133 entries from 18 countries stood out.
In conjunction with the event, these works, categorized into three groups: light image, light art, and light installation, will be exhibited in the building complex of Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street. The light show, image show, light art installation, and light performance will reveal the beauty of art, thereby creating a place of cultural and artistic appeal.

Characteristic activities
What are the changes in local conditions and customs in the Yangtze River Basin? There will be 250 artworks displayed at the Museum of Contemporary Art · Chongqing, chosen by artist associations in 13 provinces and municipalities in the Yangtze River Basin to highlight regional economic and cultural achievements.

A printmaking exhibition titled "Inheriting Historical Culture, Writing a New Chapter of the Times" will present the highest quality printmaking in Chongqing.
The Chongqing Children's Fine Arts Exhibition will demonstrate the spirit and creativity of Chongqing's children in the new era.
As the old saying goes, art takes root in life. The rural revitalization painting exhibition will vividly present poverty alleviation achievements and depict Chongqing's imposing scenery and folk customs.
Jiulong Peninsula of Fine Arts fair will bring together delicacies, specialties, cultural and creative products with Chinese characteristics, retro products, and fashion products, which will constitute a booming scene. The "Artistic Performance in Jiulong" solo flash program will offer a distinctive audio-visual feast, and the Chinese folk art activity of "Artistic Dialogue in Jiulong" will tell local stories in local dialects.

Participants can also work with international and domestic artists to bring a creative new look to Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street by painting.
